Saturn ring composition

At Saturn, CDA has successfully characterized the structure and the composition of Saturn’s diffuse E-ring, its relation to the geologically active icy moon Enceladus, and how the E-ring interacts with the magnetosphere. CDA results contributed significantly to our understanding of Enceladus and its subsurface .

The Giant Planets. The two largest planets, Jupiter and Saturn, have nearly the same chemical makeup as the Sun; they are composed primarily of the two elements hydrogen and helium, with 75% of their mass being hydrogen and 25% helium. On Earth, both hydrogen and helium are gases, so Jupiter and Saturn are sometimes called gas planets.A partial view of Saturn's north pole, 2016. Saturn's hexagon is a persistent approximately hexagonal cloud pattern around the north pole of the planet Saturn, located at about 78°N. The sides of the hexagon are about 14,500 km (9,000 mi) long, which is about 2,000 km (1,200 mi) longer than the diameter of Earth. The hexagon may be a bit more than …A. To explain why Saturn's magnetic pull affects the orbits of Saturn's moons. B. To explain how much gravitational force is needed to make particles coalesce into a moon. C. To explain how a moon might contribute material to Saturn's ring system. D. To explain why asteroids are attracted to Saturn's ring system. 限免公开课 《听力28 ...

Dec 6, 2019 · Planetary Rings. The moons of Saturn also play a role in the planet's ring system. The ring system of Saturn is the largest and most complex in the entire Solar System. They are made out of ice and rock remnants from comets, asteroids, and moons. These particles range in size from being as small as dust to as big as houses, or even mountains. Ring Structure. Saturn's ring system is divided up into 7 major divisions with alphabetic designators in the order of discovery. From the innermost ring to the outermost ring the … ….
